Job Summary:The Logistic Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods, materials, and information within an organization. They are responsible for overseeing logistics, supply chain, and distribution processes, with the goal of optimizing operations and reducing costs while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supply Chain Management:Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and goods.
    Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
    Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate favorable terms.

  2. Transportation and Distribution:Coordinate and optimize transportation routes for the efficient delivery of goods.
    Ensure that products are shipped, received, and distributed to the right locations in a timely manner.
    Monitor the performance of carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.

  3. Inventory Control:Implement inventory control systems and procedures to minimize overstock and stockouts.
    Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
    Track and report on inventory turnover and obsolescence.

  4. Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and other applicable regulations.
    Maintain accurate records and documentation for all logistics and supply chain activities.
    Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and import/export declarations.

  5. Cost Optimization:Identify cost-saving opportunities within the logistics and supply chain processes.
    Analyze logistics operations to reduce expenses while maintaining quality standards.
    Evaluate and negotiate contracts with service providers to secure cost-effective services.

  6. Risk Management:Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans.
    Implement security and safety procedures to protect assets and reduce the risk of losses.

  7. Communication and Coordination:Collaborate with various internal departments, such as production, procurement, and sales, to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
    Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and customers to resolve logistics-related issues.

  8. Performance Metrics:Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and supply chain operations.
    Continuously monitor and analyze KPIs to assess and improve performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.

  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
